Each player has to register at least two days before the start of the championships. The organizers shall have the right to reject registrations received after December 15th.

  • on the day before the day of the competition (16th of December 2005) from 3.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. at the playing hall (before Warsaw International Blitz Championship)
  • on the day of the competition (17th of December 2005) from 8.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. at the playing hall, entry fee is higher by 100% in relation to that of the day of registration
  • Foreign players, if registered in due time, can pay the entry fee in the playing hall from 8.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. without additional charges.
  • Free participation: The current medallists of the ERCh, players with a FIDE rating of 2600+ and women players with a FIDE rating of 2400+, if registered before 3 December 2005.

12. Verification of participation:

The final list of participants will be regularly updated and displayed on the website www.amplicolife.pl, the final verification at 9:15 a.m. at the playing hall; no changes will be possible after 9:30 a.m.


13. System of play:

All players play the 8-round Swiss Qualification Tournament with the rate of play G-15'+10'' (15 minutes per game for a player, with additional 10 seconds before each move). After the 8th round 16 players qualify to the Final Tournament, which contains 4 Group Tournaments, Tournaments for places 5-8, 9-12, 13-16, the Semi-finals, the Match for the 3rd place and the Final. Players who didn't qualify to the Final Tournament play further 5 rounds for a win in the Swiss Tournament. The details of the system of play are described in the Tournament Rules.

  • Remarks:
    • Prizes are not divided.
    • Not more than 2 prizes can be given to a player. If he wins more prizes, he receives the 2 highest. If the value of prizes is equal, a player receives (if applicable) prizes in the following order:
      a. for the final place
      b. for the best girl (in as young group as possible)
      c. for the best boy (in as young group as possible)
      d. for the best player born in 1945 or earlier
      e. for the best woman
      f. for the best player without ELO rating
      g. for the best place in rating groups (in as lower rating group as possible)
    • All prizes are shown before taxes, the income tax of 10% will be deducted.

16. Special conditions:

  • Free participation: The current medallists of the ERCh, players with a FIDE rating of 2600+ and women players with a FIDE rating of 2400+, if registered before 3 December 2005.
  • The top 10 players with the highest ratings, who register before 3 December 2005, will receive accommodation (from 16.12.2005 till 19.12.2005) in a single room in the Ibis Hotel at the expense of the Organizers. The list will be published on 4.12.2005.
  • Players with numbers from 11 to 20 on the starting list, who register before 3 December 2005, will receive accommodation (from 16.12.2005 till 19.12.2005) in a double room in the Ibis Hotel at the expense of the Organizers. The list will be published on 4.12.2005.
  • Organizers will cover travel expenses (300 Euros) of 3 top players with the highest ratings. The list will be published on 4.12.2005.
  • Organizers will cover travel expenses (200 Euros) of players with numbers from 4 to 10 on the starting list. The list will be published on 4.12.2005.
  • Organizers will cover travel expenses (100 Euros) of players with numbers from 11 to 15 on the starting list. The list will be published on 4.12.2005.

17. Hotels:

Each player may choose any hotel in Warsaw.
The official hotel: Hotel IBIS, Warsaw (Muranowska street 2) - 3 km from the playing hall.
Organizer guarantee the bus transfer from the official hotel to the playing hall and reverse.
The organiser has got a special price in the IBIS Hotel.

    Prices:
  • single room: 120 PLN (about 35 Euros) per person per day (including breakfast and tax);
  • double room: 60 PLN (about 18 Euros) per 1 person per day (including breakfast and tax);

Payment for the hotel by cash just after arrival.
Caution! The super offer from the Ibis Hotel is valid if at least about 100 persons decide to stay at the hotel. Because of that, the organiser asks participants willing to stay at the hotel to contact the Tournament Director before 1st December 2005 at: fundacja-szachy@o2.pl; kspolonia@poczta.pop.pl or by fax at: (+48 22) 887 67 06 or (+48 22) 635 73 97.


18. Insurance:

All players and accompanying persons have to be insured for health and accident risk. Each player may choose any hotel in Warsaw.


19. VISAS

Players and accompanying persons wishing to receive an invitation for a visa from the organizers, according to the Polish law, have to stay in the official hotel.
Players and accompanying persons who prefer to stay in other hotel than the official ones, need to take care about their visa on their own.
The organizers will not be responsible for the participants' visas, if necessary information (last name, first name, passport number, date of issue and validity) will be sent after December 3rd, 2005.
